About the Laudato Si' Advocates Program

Our Mission

 The Laudato Si’ Advocates Program is a year-long internship program for young leaders across the U.S. under the guidance of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and National Religious Partnership for the Environment (NRPE) that cultivates renewal and ecological conversion by offering formation, mentorship, and professional experience in policy, outreach, and advocacy.

What Advocates Do

Laudato Si' Advocates engage in a variety of advocacy activities, both locally and nationally. These include:


  • Publishing op-eds and letters to the editor
  • Submitting comments and testimony to federal agencies such as Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Transportation
  • Meeting with legislators
  • Writing and gathering signatures on letters to Congress
  • Meeting with their local bishop and diocesan leaders to promote environmental justice
  • Organizing educational events on campus or in their communities

How Do I Apply?

Applications for the 2023-24 academic year are closed. Applications for 2024-25 will open on April 1, 2024. Instructions and application materials will be posted on this website.
